A school show for grades 2-5. The children witness the high tech arrival of
a time traveller, Professor Spider Onyerhead, from the year 2055. He says that
in the future everybody smokes: adults, children, babies, even household pets.
One day the professor found an old brochure on the hazards of smoking.
"Of course everyone thought the brochure was a joke," he said,
" but I followed the instructions and quit smoking, and so did my dog,
Flash. We felt so healthy that we tried to get my cat to quit too."
The children meet Flash the rap-singing cocker spaniel, a grizzly-voiced chain
smoking cat named Allergen, and even a Pterodactyl who is mistakenly zapped in
from prehistoric times. Their stories are garnished with amusing tidbits of what
life is like in the future and the past.
The audience is treated to space
age sound effects, comical puppet characters, and up-beat musical sing-alongs.
Some kids even get to push a few key buttons causing the space/time machine to
do its stuff! Blasting through time and space in his noisy home-made time
machine the professor and his puppet friends spread the word that smoking is a
harmful habit.
